Green Tacoma Day is an annual day of service that offers great opportunities for the Tacoma community to get to know each other and our local green spaces. No experience is necessary, so plan on bringing along your whole family, friends, or just yourself for a fun morning of service. The 2020 date will be announced here once it has been confirmed.
Green Tacoma Day is a partnership between several organizations, including the City of Tacoma, and community members throughout Tacoma. This year, EarthCorps will serve as the point of contact for volunteers. There will be a variety of different volunteer activities available. For more information, visit the EarthCorps Green Tacoma Day web page or email EarthCorps' Dan Enbysk at dan@earthcorps.org.
The Green Tacoma Partnership invites families and individuals to participate in Green Tacoma Days, Thursday, October 8th through Sunday, October 11th. Participants can sign up and pre-register for the entire event and then choose activities to participate in as a family or individually. Once registered, we will email you a Green Tacoma Days Passport on October 5th. Fill out the Passport for the activities you complete and receive cool event swag as our way to say thanks for Keeping Tacoma Green! After the event, celebrate with the rest of Tacoma by posting photos of your participation at #greentacomaday or on our event Goosechase© app.
Green Tacoma Day is coming to you at home this year! Because of COVID-19, many people around the world have been reengaging with the natural spaces they have around them. Enjoying local parks and green spaces, learning about native plants, gardening, and birding are all ways we can engage with nature right at home. While we won’t be leading as many live volunteer events in Tacoma’s parks and open spaces this year, we will be hosting a variety of fun and engaging virtual, and do-it-yourself activities to keep those green thumbs and minds engaged at home and in your local neighborhoods while masking-up and social distancing.
