Hike: Scatter Creek WA – South Unit with Washington Native Plant Society

  • Scatter Creek Wildlife Recreation Area (map)

Join us for a lovely walk among the oaks! This oak woodland-prairie habitat includes Idaho fescue, balsamroot, and other associated wildflowers. It provides habitat for the streaked horn lark, Mazama pocket gopher, vesper sparrow, western blue bird, and many species of butterfly, including the state endangered Mardon skipper butterfly. The area is managed for prairie conservation and restoration and multiple-use outdoor recreation, including dog training, field trials, and upland bird hunting.
