Join Arbutus ARME for a tree walk highlighting one of Tacoma’s most unique forests. The group plans to walk a mellow route in Swan Creek Park. We launch our adventure from the community gardens at 10:00am.
Explore this side of the park with fresh eyes while we learn about the distinctive madrone trees and their allied understory. We will search for the tallest sinuous trees, peeling bark, ripe berries and other gifts of this arboreal cultural icon.
What we plan to do
Celebrate a return to in-person events
Mask optional and dress appropriately for Grit City weather
Stroll at a conversational pace for all ages and most abilities
View and learn more about tree health symptoms
Use iNaturalist Arbutus ARME project
Collect any stray red berries
