Webinar: The Legacy of Dr. Art Kruckeberg by Richard Olmstead

Join the Washington Native Plant Society in this awesome webinar.

Art Kruckeberg moved to Washington in 1950 to take a faculty position at the University of Washington.  In the next 66 years, his research, outreach, and advocacy educated generations of professional and amateur botanists and transformed how native plants are both understood and valued in our region.  His influence was felt far beyond the University, making accessible an appreciation of our native flora directly, through field trips, publications, and legislation to protect rare species, and indirectly, through his efforts to establish the WNPS and the Kruckeberg Botanic Garden, now a public garden in Shoreline, WA.  His legacy lives on through the many former students, native plant enthusiasts, and gardeners who find joy in our native flora.
